Velora began as a passion project born out of a deep love for unique, thoughtful design. Founded as Illuminate Vintage on Etsy by Creative Director Kyle Bostic, the brand started as a true one-man operation. Kyle’s connection to the craft runs deep: growing up with a father who was a skilled carpenter and a grandfather who was a lamp maker, hands-on artistry and the beauty of working with raw materials were woven into his everyday life. Driven by that inherited passion to create pieces that stand out in a world of mass-produced decor, Kyle hand-built the foundation of what Velora is today.

While our story has grown far beyond that initial workbench, our core ethos remains unchanged. Every piece we offer reflects a blend of inherited trade traditions and a vision for modern, distinctive design. We don't just follow trends; we create products with personality that elevate your space and spark conversation.

original origins

Our founder and creative director, Kyle Bostic began building light fixtures and buying antiques for trade shows—and decided to sell his unique selection of pieces online, too.

As online sales grew, so did his passion for custom original lighting. What began as a hobby grew into our small team, turning passion into pieces that feel personal.
